Children are very welcome from birth onwards. Children and young people share in the first part of our Sunday morning worship and then go to their own activities in J Club including Bible stories, prayers, crafts and games. Creche facilities can be provided if required. Fish Club
Billy Bear
Our Fury group, for 11’s+ is part of the national Fellowship of United Reformed Youth. They have great activities and arrange brilliant events for Children in Need and Comic Relief which the whole church enjoys. Fury have also encouraged us to be more “green” and arrange for re-cycling of paper, ink cartridges etc. They meet on Thursday evenings at 7.00 p.m. Further information about Fury is available at the Fury web site Rainbows
The Rainbows are the youngest members of Girlguiding UK. We have space for fifteen 5 – 7 year olds but are always over-subscribed with a long waiting list. As their song says “We are Rainbows, we have fun, we are kind and helpful, playing games and making things, we are glad we’re Rainbows!” The Rainbows meet for one hour a week on Friday evenings at 5.30 p.m. and occasionally join in organized events with other Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. Brownies
Our Brownies are a group of 24 girls aged from 7- 10. We meet for one and a half hours each week on Friday evenings at 6.00 p.m., and go on Pack Holiday one week-end per year. We get up to all kinds of things within the Brownie programme which aims to promote teamwork, taking care of our world and our community, and challenging ourselves to be the best we can be. This all involves lots of fun, games, songs, crafts, outdoor activities, theme nights, trips and badges. Guides
Our Guide Company for 10 – 14 year olds meets for one and a half hours each week on Friday evening at 7.00 p.m. and follows on from the Brownie programme. At this age the girls are given even more control over the activities they choose to take part in. They can choose “Go For Its” from subjects as varied as Party Planning, Environment and (their favourite) chocolate! More trips and residential experiences are available and they undertake more advanced community projects. After the serious side, there’s still lots of time for fun, however, and the Guides like their games, songs (and chocolate!) as much as the Rainbows. |
